1. The Unitd nations celebrates World Food Safety Day (WFSD) on 7 June every year to raise awareness about different foodborne risks and the measures of how to prevent it. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), this year theme is ‘Food safety, everyone’s business’.
1. दूसरा World Food Safety Day (WFSD) यानि विश्व खाद्य सुरक्षा दिवस 7 जून 2020 को मनाया गया। इस दिन को मनाए जाने का उद्देश्य विभिन्न खाद्य जनित जोखिमों और इसके रोकथाम के उपायों के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाना है। विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (WHO) के अनुसार, इस वर्ष का विषय ‘Food safety, everyone’s business‘ है।
2. World Ocean Day is observed globally on 8th June every year to raise global awareness about the importance of the ocean in our lives and the ways through which we can protect it. The theme of UN World Oceans Day 2020 is “Innovation for a Sustainable Ocean.” Officially World Ocean Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2008.

4.The Indian Air Force has designed, developed and manufactured ARPIT- an Airborne Rescue Pod for Isolated Transportation. The rescue pod will be utilised for the evacuation of severely ill patients with infectious diseases including COVID-19 from isolated, remote and high altitude areas.
4. भारतीय वायु सेना द्वारा स्वदेशी रूप से पृथक परिवहन (आइसोलेटेड ट्रांसपोर्टेशन) के लिए एक एयरबोर्न रेस्क्यू पॉड (Airborne Rescue Pod for Isolated Transportation-ARPIT) का डिजाइन, विकसित एवं निर्माण किया गया है। यह पॉड ऊंचाई वाले क्षेत्रों, अलग-थलग स्थानों तथा दूरदराज के क्षेत्रों से COVID-19 सहित गंभीर संक्रामक रोगियों को बाहर निकालने में मददगार साबित होगा।

10. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has made some interim changes in the cricket playing regulations including the imposition of ban on use of saliva to shine balls. ICC will issue two warnings per inning against the use of saliva. However, beyond that there will be 5-run penalty for the batting side. Know other changes in the regulations here.

S&P Global Ratings has released its report on emerging markets titled “Financial Conditions Reflect Optimism, Lockdown Fatigue Emerges” and forecasted Indian economy to shrink by 5% in fiscal year 2020-21. It also projects India’s growth to rebound to 8.5% in the fiscal year 2021-22. It has also projected India’s growth to be 6.5% in the fiscal year 2022-23.

12.India has recorded a 29% increase in the population of Asiatic Lions. The count of Asiatic Lions has increased from 523 in 2015 to 674 in 2020, indicating a rise of 29% in lion’s population. Asiatic Lions are found in the wild in the Gir sanctuary in western Gujarat.

13. Uttarakhand forest department has opened the state’s biggest biodiversity park in Haldwani on the occasion of World Environment Day, to encourage conservation of flora, especially medicinal plants.

14. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has launched “Panchvati Yojana” for the senior citizens of rural areas of the state. Under this programme, the state will set up parks and gardens in every development block with all the necessary amenities. State government is eying to develop 100 such parks in the state in the current financial year. This will be executed under the MNREGA scheme of rural development.
14. हिमाचल प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री जय राम ठाकुर ने राज्य के ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में रहने वाले के वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के लिए “पंचवटी योजना” का शुभारंभ किया है। “पंचवटी योजना” के अंतर्गत, हिमाचल प्रदेश सरकार राज्य के प्रत्येक विकास खंड में सभी आवश्यक सुविधाओं से लैस पार्क और उद्यान स्थापित करेगी। इसे ग्रामीण विकास की मनरेगा योजना के तहत क्रियान्वित किया जाएगा।
