  • HP Cabinet decides to lease 30-bigha land to firm for solid waste management project- The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet on Friday decided to lease 30 bighas of land to a private company to enable it to set up a Solid Waste Management Project (SWMP). The state Cabinet gave its nod to lease the land of Industries department at Mauja Kenduwal in Solan district’s Baddi area to JBR Environment Technologies for a token money of Rs 1 per square meter per year for 25 years.
  • To give a boost to industrialisation and revive the economy, the Cabinet today decided to provide incentives and concession such as reduction in stamp duty as well as registration fee to facilitate entrepreneurs. As per the decision taken by the Cabinet under the HP Industrial Investment Policy, 2019, micro, small and medium enterprises having investment up to Rs 10 crore in plant and machinery in case of manufacturing enterprises or having investment up to Rs 5 crore in equipment in case of specified category of service enterprises will be charged concessional rate of stamp duty and registration fee at 50 per cent, 30 per cent and 10 per cent of applicable rates in category ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ areas, respectively, on instrument of conveyance deed or lease deed. It has also been decided that anchor enterprises set up in an industrial area with the fixed capital investment of more than Rs 200 crore and employing more than 200 bonafide Himachalis on a regular basis will be eligible for concession on stamp duty and registration fee at the rate of 50 per cent, 30 per cent and 20 per cent of applicable rates in category ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ areas, respectively, on instrument of conveyance deed or lease deed. The Cabinet also approved the lease of 30-bigha land of the Industries Department at Mauja Kenduwal, Baddi, Solan, to M/s JBR Environment Technologies (Baddi) Pvt Ltd for setting up an integrated solid waste management project on token money of Re 1 per square metre per year for a period of 25 years.
  • In order to continue the study of students studying in schools closed to prevent corona virus, e-material from class 9th to 12th has been uploaded on the Swayam Siddham portal.
  • Web portal for checking fake news- Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today launched a web portal for uploading information about fake and unverified news related to Covid19 so that appropriate action could be taken to check such news. Web portal could be accessed at http://fakenews.hp.gov.in.

  • Himachal Pradesh starts to use eSanjeevaniOPD- On April 21, 2020 the Himachal Pradesh government has started eSanjeevaniOPD through which free online medical consultation & general health advice will be provided to the people at their residence throughout the state from doctors of different medical colleges from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM on all working days. It can be accessed by logging into ‘esanicevanicpd.in’ & soon this facility will be available on mobile phones in the state.
  • State Government successfully implementing Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojna- GoI to deposit Rs. 2000 in bank accounts of 868915 farmers under Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said here today that Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojna was being implemented in the State effectively in the wake of corona pandemic and targeted groups have received much needed relief.
  • Chief Minister said that Government of India has given insurance cover of Rs. 50 lakh to the health personnel engaged in combating COVID-19. He said that the State Government has decided to give ex-gratia of Rs. 50 lakh to all the frontline workers of other departments engaged directly in fighting COVID-19. He said that Government of India will deposit Rs. 2000 in the bank accounts of 868915 farmers identified under Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna, by spending an amount of Rs. 173 crore. Jai Ram Thakur said that Rs. 500 as ex-gratia was being credited every month for next three months into the accounts of women account holders under Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojna. He said under this, so far 590306 beneficiaries have been benefitted by providing Rs. 29.5 crore. Chief Minister said that all the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna were being given one gas cylinder free of cost each month for three months. He said that out of 135840 beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna, transfer had been initiated in favour of 130116 beneficiaries out of these 36557 bookings were received and 34654 refills were done. Jai Ram Thakur said that State Government had also started paying of Rs. 2000 to workers in March and April for their wage loss registered under H.P. Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board. He said that so far under this, 75601 workers had been benefitted by spending Rs. 15.12 crore. He said that several MGNREGA workers would be benefitted through HP Buildings and Construction Workers Welfare Board. Chief Minister said that the State Government has also provided enhanced social security pension to 569058 beneficiaries on which an amount of Rs. 217.85 crore had been spent. Jai Ram Thakur said that under NFSA, 5 kg of rice per person per month and one kg pulse per family per month was being provided free of cost to the beneficiaries from April to June, 2020. Chief Minister said that wage admissible under MGNREGA has been enhanced by Rs. 20 per day from 1st April, 2020. He said that the Union Government has also decided to increase Collateral Security fee loan limit for women self help groups from present Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh to benefit these groups. He said that Women and Child Development Department has issued the instructions.
  • World Bank approved Rs 585 cr for Himachal Pradesh State Roads Transformation Project (HPSRTP). The Himachal Pradesh State Roads Transformation Project (HPSRTP) will receive a funding of US$82 million (Rs 585 crore) from World Bank (WB) for the upgradation of major roads and modernization of the Public Works Department (PWD) in Himachal Pradesh (HP).
