  • Dr. Shrikant Baldi became the first chairman of the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Rera) while retired chief architect R K Verma and retired IAS officer B C Badalia would be its members.
  • The Himachal government has appointed Anil Kumar Khachi, the 1986-batch IAS officer, as the new chief secretary of the state.
  • Himachal receives Commendation Award for Total Food Grain Production-Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented Commendation Award to Himachal Pradesh under Krishi Karmanya Award 2016-17 of Central Government for excellent performance in total food grain production Category-2 at Tumkur, Karnataka.
  • Himachal Pradesh’s first Sky Walk will be made in Shimla. On the way to the tourist destination Kufri, the tourists will be able to walk sky on the lines of foreign countries in the Hassan Valley. It will be made from the funds of Asian Development Bank. Himachal’s most dense forest is in the Hassan Valley.
  • Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said the state registered a 17.3 per cent increase in gross revenue collections till December 2019. Total revenue collected up to December 2019 was Rs 3,653.68 crore, whereas it was Rs 3,115.17 crore up to December 2018, he said in a press statement.
  • CM Jai ram launches Himachal MyGov portal & CM app for HP. On January 6, 2020, Himachal Pradesh (UP) Chief Minister (CM) Jai Ram Thakur has launched the Himachal MyGov portal – https://himachal.my.gov.in/en) to strengthen public participation in the government system. He also launched CM App during the occasion in Shimla, HP. Himachal is the 11th state in India to provide this app. Key Points: 1.Himachal MyGov portal: It is a new innovative initiative of a partnership between government and citizens with the help of technology for the development of India. The portal will help the people of Himachal to take their views, suggestions, feedback and complaints to the government. The government will consider constructive criticisms and coordinate all suggestions for the betterment of the state and the country, 2.CM app: With this app, citizens of Himachal will be able to get direct and quick information about various policies and programs of the goverrutient. Through the App, the people of the state will be able to write complaints directly to the Chief Minister. This will prove to be helpful in harmonizing various schemes.
  • CM Presides Over 47th Tribal Advisory Council Meeting- Himachal CM presides over 47th Tribal Advisory Council Meeting. State Government committed for the development of tribal areas. Rs. 904 crore Plan and Rs. 831 crore Non Plan allocated under Tribal Sub Plan in current financial year.
  • Himachal makes World Record by preparing largest quantity of khichdi on Makar Sankranti- Himachal Pradesh has made it to the Guiness Book of World Records for preparing the largest quantity of khichdi that had to be tilted out of its enormous container with a crane in order to be served to devotees on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. A team of 25 chefs cooked 1995 kg of the dish at Tattapani in Mandi district in a vessel weighing 270 kg, with the dimensions of four feet depth and seven feet diameter.
  • Himachal Pradesh cricketer Harleen Deol has been selected in the Indian cricket team for the Women’s Twenty20 World Cup.
  • AAI signed an MoU with Government of Himachal Pradesh for a Greenfield Airport at Nagchala, Himachal Pradesh- Government of Himachal Pradesh had expressed their interest to Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, for construction of a Greenfield Airport at Nagchala near Mandi. Initially, the airport will be suitable for operation of aircraft up to ATR 72. The development of the Greenfield Airport with unidirectional runway will be implemented through a Joint Venture Company (“JVC”) wherein AAI will hold 51% equity and the remaining 49% equity will be held by the GoHP or its designated agency.
  • Rail parts, rubber products will be made at Paonta Sahib in district Sirmour and pistol, rifle and grenade launchers will be made at Indora in Kangra of Himachal Pradesh.
  • ‘Nasha Nivaran Board’ Constituted to Curb Drug Menace: Govt- Himachal Pradesh State Government has constituted ‘Himachal Pradesh Nasha Nivaran Board’ under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. The Spokesman said that the Board would have Chief Secretary, Administrative Secretaries of Home, Excise and Taxation, Revenue, Forests, Social Justice and Empowerment, Agriculture, Health and Education and Director General of Police as official members, while Commissioner of State Taxes and Excise as Member Secretary.

  • Himachal Pradesh conferred with Award of Excellence for HimPragati online portal- Himachal Pradesh has been conferred Award of Excellence CSI SIG e-Governance award-2019 by the Computer Society of India for Him Pragati online system of Chief Minister’s Office.
